NJEA USA members
will elect TEN delegates to the NSO
Representative Assembly to be held June 8-9,
2007 in Scottsdale, AZ.
Here
are the procedures which will be followed for this election:
-
The
Elections Committee (consisting of Arthur Lehrhaupt and
Joyce Wardrop, co-chairpersons; Liz Campanile, Thomas
Hardy and Liz Rylak) will collect the names of all
members who wish to be candidates for these delegate
spots, ascertain that all candidates are members in good
standing, notify all members of the names of all
individuals seeking election as delegates, and conduct
the election by secret ballot.
-
Delegates will be elected by a plurality vote with an
immediate runoff election only in the case of a tie.
Those candidates not elected as delegates shall be
designated as alternates and ranked in order of the
number of votes received. Alternates will serve when an
elected delegate is unable to attend the Representative
Assembly.
-
Anyone wishing to run for one of the ten delegate
positions must notify Joyce Wardrop in writing by
5:00 p.m. on April 4, 2007. Notices may be sent by
regular mail or e-mail. Notices must be received by
this deadline. Any notices which are not in Joyce
Wardrop’s hands by then will not be valid.
Please note that Joyce Wardrop
is the only person designated to receive candidate
notifications. Do not submit notices to Arthur Lehrhaupt or
to any other member of the committee.
